The great thing about the Internet is that it is not difficult to find out what people are buying or what help people are looking for. Google has recently started offering their keywords tool for everyone to use. It actually gives you the volume of searches on any given keyword or longtail phrase. It will even give you suggestions of phrases and keywords related to the words you give it, allowing you to expand your search beyond your own guesswork and into the profitable realm of genuine knowledge.
Finding out what people are buying or what help they looking for is only the beginning. You do actually have to come up with the goods.
The Dark Arts...
Even then, even if you know exactly what people want and source or create the perfect solution, you're only halfway there. You have to let those people know that you've solved their problem. You have to tell them you've got what they want. Even the most wonderful product in the world is useless unless potential customers know about it. You will need to embrace the mysterious dark Art of Internet marketing!
Hot Cakes...
There are many wonderful product that never see the light of day because of a lacklustre marketing campaign and plenty of mediocre or downright terrible products that sell like hot cakes because of a clever sales page and impressive graphics.
Marketing your product is essential and it is why many affiliate programs, especially for digital downloadable products, given massive commissions (70% plus) to Internet marketeers who make it work.
Don't despair!
Some of the simplest marketing strategies are also the most effective. Writing articles and submitting them to online article directories is a tried and tested way to get your name, product and a link to your sales page in front of potential customers. It takes time and effort but no cash outlay. If you have money to spend, then PPC (pay-per-click) with ad words from Google can be a real winner... if you get it right!
